Dodge Dart is a compact sedan based on the Fiat Compact version, the first to be developed since the cessation of the Dodge Neon. The model was first presented in 2012 at the North American International Auto Show. Development lasted 18 months and costs reached 1 billion dollars. Dodge Dart is built at the same location where its predecessor was constructed, the Chrysler’s Belvidere Assembly Plant. The fabrication process for the 2013 Dodge Dart started on May 7 2012 with a black and red Rallye model.

The 2013 Dodge Dart SXT is available in 11 exterior colors, 3 interior colors and has two engine options. The standard 2.0L Tigershark four-cylinder engine has 160 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque, Variable Valve Timing (VVT) and is paired with a six-speed manual or automatic PowerTech transmission. The 1.4L intercooled Turbo engine MultiAir releases 160 horsepower, 184 lb-ft of torque and is matched with a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic Dual Dry Clutch Transmission (DDCT) with an AutoStick. These high-performance gasoline engines have the most evolved class+ transmissions that give the driver different levels of control.

Fuel efficiency is taken to a new level with the 2013 Dodge Dart SXT, due to its aerodynamic shape. The standard 2.0L engine has a fuel consumption that reaches 36 hwy mpg, and the 1.4L Turbo with 39 hwy mpg. Aerodynamic drag and noise are reduced by the innovative underbody belly panels and treatments such as Noise Vibration & Harshness (NVH).

The Dart’s unique design features 152 individually placed LEDs, dark-tinted projector headlamps and fog lamps. Other elements are the integrated dual exhausts, active grille shutters, a black crosshair grille and LED racetrack tail lamps. The 2013 Dodge Dart SXT has 17-inch painted aluminum wheels, door handles and exterior mirrors that match the color of the body.

On the inside, the design is ergonomic and pleasant, with a custom font, soft-touch surfaces and bright gouges. An available 8.4 inches Uconnect touchscreen provides information about fuel prices, sports and weather. There is also an available Garmin Navigation and SiriusXM Travel. The leather steering wheel has Bluetooth streaming audio, remote start and audio controls.

Safety was not overlooked by the manufacturer who equipped the 2013 Dodge Dart SXT with the latest technology. Ten standard airbags with an adaptive-venting system protect both the driver and the passengers. The handling is excellent due to the standard Electronic Stability Control and advanced brake systems. Dodge Dart has standard four-wheel antilock disc brakes with Brake Assist and Hill Start Assist.
